Jhonas Enroth 2024 President’s Choice Butt End 1/1 stick memorabilia card.Updating the collection with this unique 1/1 stick memorabilia card!
Back in August, President’s Choice Trading Cards released their new series of Butt End stick memorabilia cards. Since then, they have been slowly adding to the set to the enjoyment (and slight amusement) of many collectors who’ve gladly added these unique stick memorabilia cards into their respective collections for the past few months.
You can tell from the get-go that these aren’t your traditional memorabilia cards, as they feature the butt end knob from the end of the players stick. I’ve never seen this done for a hockey card before, so it was amazing to see this concept come to life.
My immediate reaction to seeing these cards was that we were finally seeing the ‘bat knob’ memorabilia card being replicated in our sport. For those who don’t know, bat knob cards have been a huge staple in the baseball collector world for many years now.
For those who haven’t seen a bat knob card before, here’s an example of some in the baseball card world.

Canseco bat knob card example. (Not my cards). These currently belong to Tanmanbaseballfan Now that the ‘bat knob’ of hockey cards have finally been unleashed on our hobby, collectors are responding very positively. I am surprised it took this long, but I am happy we now have them.
I’ve uploaded some pictures below to highlight just how massive these things are…just wow!

The fun part about memorabilia cards is that you’ll wonder about what games they’ve played a part in, and while most of the time you just never know, sometimes you’ll be lucky enough to find out.
After looking at some photos, I was able to estimate that this stick knob was from a Reebok Premier lll stick used in 2010. As seen by the photo below after Buffalo’s 3-2 shootout win against Toronto on November 6th, 2010, earning Enroth his very first NHL win, it is very possible it was from that same stick judging by the tape similarities on the top end of the stick.
I suppose I will never know for sure, but it already makes this card that much cooler!

Similar stick this stick knob came from. Likely a Reebok Premier lll stick from 2010.

Potential photo-match: November 6th 2010 after Enroth secures his very first NHL win.

November 6th, 2010: Enroth’s First NHL Win

Luckily for me, I had the chance to snag this card just in time to end the year on a high note to secure the 76th 1/1 card in the Enroth collection!
