07-08 SHL Elitset The Guardians – Joel Gistedt – Red Error Variation (Bottom).It’s not often I found out about an older card that I have never heard of, but a little while ago I was introduced to an error card that I had no previous knowledge of.

2007-08 SHL Elitset The Guardians – Red (Ruby) Error Variation

These cards were pulled from the products prior to the release date, as these were not like the other parallels in the set. The original cards in this insert set has a blue/greenish shine to it to go along with the Silver parallels /35, but mistakenly shoved into the mix were these Red parallels that are also mistakenly numbered /35 on the back, but have no hand-numbered serial number like the Silver versions.

My guess is that they originally planned to release uber-rare Red (Ruby) variations, but the backs were all printed wrong (the backs look identical to the Silver Versions and have “/35” on the back, even though they are much rarer), so they had to disregard the Red parallels from the checklist and pull them from the product.

From the information I’ve received, there is less than 20 of these cards in total and there is an Enroth out there…. somewhere. So while it’s a shot in the dark at this point in the game (13 years later), I hope that I can track down one of these Red Error variations one of these years.

The Guardians – Red (Error/Misprint Variation) of Stefan Liv. These cards were pulled from production. Rumour has it that only 20 of these (in total, which includes other goalies from this 12-card set) are out there.

The back of these Red parallels feature the misprint: The backs of the cards had the Silver paralleled backs, indicating they were numbered /35, which they were not. These were left unnumbered, whereas the silver parallels featured a hand-written serial number #/35. Due to this printing misprint, the cards were pulled from production before pack-out.
