2015-16 Upper Deck Buybacks – 2009-10 SPx Rookie Patch Auto /25 Jhonas Enroth

Some of the Jhonas Enroth 2009-10 Upper Deck SPx Rookie Patch Autograph cards were re-inserted inside the popular 2015-16 Upper Deck Buybacks product. Super cool!

This past week, I added a familiar card to the collection with the addition of this eleven-year-old 2009-10 SPx RPA #/25 of Jhonas Enroth. Card number 589 for the collection.

With a recent homage to this set inside 2019-2020 SPx last year, it motivated me to snag another copy of this card when I had the chance to revisit this old gem of a set when I could. I managed to not only land a nicer patch for my collection, but I also found out an interesting piece of info regarding this Jhonas Enroth SPx autographed patch card in the process, which was that this card (5 copies or less) was inserted inside Upper Deck’s 2015-2016 UD Buybacks boxed product under the guise of the ‘Vintage Buyback’ subset within the product.

Due to the nature of this card already having an autograph, no COA’s were produced for these limited SPx /25 buyback cards, which is something you would normally see with a buyback card if the autograph was signed years after the card was initially released, for example.It’s not everyday that I find out some more information about a card or product you thought you knew. These are one of the elements I really enjoy about collecting: You just never known what is around the corner.

It could be as small as some new hobby knowledge, a budding collection, or striking your Most Wanted card off the want list from many moons ago – This hobby sure knows how to keep you on your toes.Happy Collecting,
