A Game-Used Jersey card with some KHL outdoor hockey history. I normally don’t pickup duplicates on purpose, unless they have enough variance to the copy I currently own (think Jersey Numbered, swatch variation, last prints, etc), but I feel this one was necessary not only because of the particular swatch, but the hockey history present in this game-worn KHL jersey card.On January 20th, 2018, Enroth played his first outdoor hockey game in the pro ranks. Aside from being a career highlight, this was also the very first outdoor professional hockey game in the country of Latvia’s history since 1909 (and only the 2nd KHL regular season outdoor game in league history).
The Historic matchup was played between the 2 Dinamo teams: Dinamo Riga and Dinamo Minsk. After a great match, Enroth and Dinamo Minsk came away with the 3-2 victory over Dinamo Riga to secure the points.
2018 Winter Ice Break
The KHL’s 2nd regular season outdoor game in league history (2018).The jersey card I picked up was released inside the 2018-19 SeReal KHL 11th Season Premier Collection and features a swatch from the game-worn jersey that Enroth was wearing during the Winter Ice Break. So cool! i was lucky to acquire a copy immediately following the products’ release, but also managed to find another copy a few weeks ago, too. This recent card features a two-colour jersey swatch with a stitched seam from the bottom half of Enroth’s jersey. It is also limited to just 10 copies.
The newest jersey card in my Enroth collection features a swatch from the 2018 Winter Ice Break game. Here are some action shots of Enroth from that game. You will notice the patterned portion of the jersey towards the bottom – that is where the swatches for this jersey card set came from. Always nice when you can locate where/when the memorabilia was worn and gather more intel on the cards we all collect.
