Will I chase these cards for my PC?Over the years, I’ve seen player collectors dive into various avenues within the hobby in order to find new ways to extend their collections beyond the traditional sense.
One of the more unique ways I’ve seen that done is by collecting checklist cards. While it doesn’t usually feature or highlight their chosen player as the main focal point of the card, it does mention them in some way on the front or back of the card itself (by name or by card number in the set).
This player collecting ‘loophole’ for some collectors is just another way for them to collect a card of their favourite player.
While this may not be the case for me and my collection per-say, I did recently stumble upon a happy medium when I found a Los Angeles kings Team Checklist card from 2016-17 Upper Deck O-Pee-Chee (pictured at the top of this article) that pictures Jhonas Enroth on the front of the card, along with some of his LA Kings teammates at the time, celebrating a big win.
The card itself isn’t fancy by any means, but it also comes with 3 parallels to chase that I will surely be after. Aside from the Base version, I’ll need to track down the Rainbow Foil parallel, the Black Rainbow Foil numbered /100, and the rare Wrapper Redemption Red Border parallel, which will be very tough considering the lackluster desire for checklist cards overall in the hobby, plus the Red Bordered parallels which had a limited print run and where only availible in Canada. The chance of someone listing one for sale on eBay is quite slim, but I’ll be sure to put these all on my wantlist and do my best.
New types cards to chase is never a bad thing!
