Everything is bigger in Texas: Another Game-Used Jersey Enters The Collection

Jhonas Enroth Dallas Stars Game Worn Jersey
Jhonas Enroth Game Worn Dallas Stars Away Jersey

Another game-used jersey entered the collection today, courtesy of the team over at Meigray. They are connected with a lot of professional sports teams, and I’m glad they still had this Enroth jersey available in their inventory after all this time. For those readers who regularily follow this blog, you may be experiencing a little déjà vuright now. Not to worry, you are not going crazy. While this new piece is very similar to

my most recent acquisition, this one is different in a big way. I normally don’t chase memorabilia pieces all that much, as my collection is mainly focused on the cards, I had to make an exception on this piece. In some weird collecting voodoo, all of my game-used pieces I’ve managed to add to my collection have come from shutout wins. So, naturally, when you get a chance to add another, you jump at at it. While Enroth’s time with the Dallas Stars was limited after his trade from Buffalo, I was glad I was able to add one of his jerseys from this portion of his career. The Stars ‘new’ uniforms look awesome, which also helps the cause. I knew of its existance for some time now, and thanks to a severe discount, I was able to make a deal for it.  Thanks, Barry!

This jersey was worn by Enroth in the following games with the Dallas Stars in 2015:

February 24th, 2015 vs Winnipeg Jets (4-2 Loss)
March 5th, 2015 vs Florida Panthers (Enroth went into the game in relief, Won the game 4-3 in a Shootout)
March 7th, 2015 vs Tampa Bay Lightning (5-4 Loss)
April 4th, 2015 vs Nashville Predators (4-3 Overtime Win)
April 6th, 2015 vs San Jose Sharks (5-1 Win)
April 8th, 2015 vs Anaheim Ducks *(4-0 Win, Enroth earns 5th Career NHL Shutout)*

In addition to these in-game appearances, this jersey was also worn during backup appearances.
Such a great piece with a fair bit of wear and puck marks that made it fairly easy to find photo matches. Enroth wore this jersey in at least these 6 games during his brief time with the Stars to end the 2014-15 regular season. Also, a fun thing about this jersey is that Enroth debut his Dallas Stars mask while wearing this sweater on March 5th, 2015. While this may be a non-factor usually when it comes to game-worn jersey’s, this mask was the first mask to use David Gunnarsson’s G.L.O.W Tech FX technology – making it glow in the dark! I thought that was pretty cool and something that had not been seen on a goalie mask up until this point in time, so I wanted to highlight that on this blog post as well for readers who’d appreciate this little goalie gear fact that this jersey was apart of.

This jersey also appears on Enroth’s only card pictured on the Dallas Stars, as he made an appearance in the 2015-16 Upper Deck O-Pee-Chee base and retro parallel sets.

The puck marks on the front of the jersey were airbrushed out during the post-production stage when these cards were being created, but it’s the same jersey. The photo was taken on March 5th, when the Dallas Stars played against the Florida Panthers.
