Mail Day: A Stunning 4-Colour Future Watch Auto Patch!

In the mail today was a 4-colour Enroth 09-10 SP Authentic Future Watch Auto Patch 94/100Things have been rolling along pretty nicely for the collection in the past couple weeks. After my two notable Jersey Numbered cards recently, this card also popped up out of nowehere and I just had to snag it. In the mail today was my 5th copy of Enroth’s 2009-10 SP Authentic Future Watch Autographed Patch /100. What makes this card stand out above the rest is the patch. For those that listened to the podcast recently, we recently ranked our Top 10 patch cards in our respective collections, and while this one was received in today and didn’t make the cut, I figured I’d create a standalone post for it regardless to show it some love.

Side note: I will also be publishing an article here on my blog to showcase my Top 10 Patch cards from that episode at a later date, so stay tuned for that!

The patch itself comes from Buffalo’s ‘BuffaSlug’ emblem on the front of the jersey. If you were confused why any red would show up on these modern Sabres jersey’s, that it because it is a portion of the eye, which is rare for a patch card from those Sabres uniforms from this era. I hadn’t seen a patch like this come up for sale before, so I had to add it.

I am not one to grab many copies of a single card, but as my collecting years grow, I’ve found ways to extend the collection that much more to keep the train running and have more fun with it. If you’ve been in player collecting game for long enough, than you probably know what I’m talking about. Also, am I the only one that didn’t mind the ‘Buffaslug’ jersey’s ? Sure, the current Sabres jersey logo will always be great and very synonymous in Buffalo, but I think for a modernized rebrand of a classic logo, it wasn’t the worst thing in the world, and the colour scheme was nicely done.

These modern ‘Buffaslug’ Sabres jersey’s were worn by the Sabres from the 2006-07 to 2009-10 season.Until next time, happy collecting.
