My recap from the 2025 Fall Sports Card Expo!
Another Fall Expo has come and gone, and it was one for the books as they say. Not only was I able to snag a few cards for my collection, but I was able to have some fun seeing some great cards, and shared some fun conversations along the way.
Here we go!
As soon as I arrived on Saturday, my buddy Matt was quick to point out an Enroth 2009-10 The Cup Rookie Patch Auto he saw at one of the tables near the Beckett grading area. After a quick walk, I stumbled upon the table and quickly made a deal for the card.
Later on I realized that the 4-colour patch on this thing is the most colours I’ve been able to add for this RPA, so I’ll take that as a win. It may be a duplicate, but adding more Enroth cards will never not be fun.
Some time later, I found myself hovering around the CloutsNChara booth for a while, just looking for some nice goalie cards. As luck would have it, I stumbled across this limited Jean-Sebastian Giguere hard-signed autograph from 2003-04 Topps Pristine.
The Pristine product overall was a visual treat, and the same can be said for these miniature cards. I believe the Giguere mini was the only one in the set to receive an autographed version. I have heard the print run is around 100 copies or less. Definitely a card you don’t see everyday.
Funny enough, about a week before the Expo, I was looking around for Giguere autographs, thinking that I really should add a nice card of his into the collection. This card will fit perfectly in my overall goalie PC.When I stopped in at Jeremy’s booth, I said my hello’s and got to digging into his autograph / memorabilia card binders he had laying at the front of his booth.
I managed to snag a few cards that didn’t break the bank. I really like that Select Signatures /99 of Jim Craig. Miracle on Ice, anyone? Really digging that black & white design with the blue autograph that just pops off the card.
I also picked up a cool Arturs Irbe autograph as well, which is my first of him. This was from the 1999-00 Upper Deck Wayne Gretzky Hockey product within the Signs of Greatness set.
Irbe was a great goalie during his time, especially in the early 2000’s. Not a bad on-card autograph of his, either! I was happy with that.
I also snagged some cool Prizm jersey cards of Brodeur and Belfour. Cheap cards that will go straight into their respective collections. These cards remind me of my childhood, so you can’t go wrong with that.
Later in the afternoon, while digging through a nice box of goalie cards, I saw this Dwayne Roloson Franchise History autographed card from 2018-19 Chronology and had to have it. I used to have a small Roloson collection many years ago, as he was a favourite of mine going back to his Wild days and especially his 06′ Cup run.
The Upper Deck Chronology products were awesome, as they featured some great designs and a deep checklist – An easy ‘YES’ for the goalie collection in my eyes.
At the same booth, I also snagged another 2010-11 Artifacts Auto-Facts autograph of Enroth. Over dinner, I gave that to my friend Matt. He seemed to really enjoy the card, and that’s what this hobby is all about.
For those that know me, I (shockingly) mostly go for the goalie cards, I can’t help but respect the players that make this league go-round. As the current face of the NHL and arguably the greatest player to ever lace them up, a sweet McDavid card will always turn heads.
While this isn’t some crazy patch auto, you just can’t go wrong with simple jersey card of the game’s best. I snagged this sweet 2025-26 Artifacts NHL Remnants jersey card with a eye-popping orange coloured swatch. I have always wanted to add a decent McDavid card, and this will fit quite nicely I think.
During my Saturday travels on the Expo floor, I was able to also run into Thatcher Demko’s father of all people. He was really humble when speaking about his son, which was nice to see.
Towards the and of the show, I snagged a cool O-Pee-Chee Playing Card of Thatcher to mark my last pickup from the Expo. When I showed him the card, I jokingly suggested he sign it for me – and he did! What a fun card that I will carry a fun little memory.

If you attended any of the Expos this year, I hope you had a really great time and picked up some cool cards along the way. If you haven’t attended the Expo before, I would encourage you to attend at least once in your collecting lives. While daunting (So. Many. Cards.) It is something really special to see in-person.
