Milestone Mail: Card # 800 Enters My Collection!

Recently, I was able to reach a milestone I never thought was possible in this collection: 800 Total cards.

To reach this milestone in style, I recently acquired this 2014-15 Upper Deck MVP Magenta 1/1 Printing Plate into the collection, and I couldn’t be happier.

If you’ve followed this blog for any amount of time, you know how much I enjoy printing plates. To have a piece of something that went into the production of these cards has always fascinated me ever since I joined this hobby. I always get a kick out of finding another one.

This MVP printing plate (Left) was used in the production of these base cards (Right).

This plate means a little bit more to me since it comes from Upper Deck’s 2014-15 MVP release, which is a product I’ve always really enjoyed. For those that remember, last spring I found the Gold Script /100 parallel, which was one of my white whales in the hobby, and a card I had been chasing for over 10 years. So to start 2026 with another piece from this product is extra special!

After staring this collection in 2010, I never thought I would ever reach a milestone like 800 total cards. That might not be a lot compared to other player collectors out there, but it’s a fun milestone nevertheless.
