From one Vault to another, I welcome the latest In The Game card into my collection.Picked up another ITG Vault card recently!
While I have quite a few In The Game (ITG) Vault cards in my collection already (this makes # 35), this is the first Vault card since 2023.
This new addition comes with a bit of a mystery.
After this card came up for sale, I was looking at the font style of the “V 1 of 1” Vault stamp on the card, and noticed it was done with the previous stamp style font as the previous ITG Superlative & Ultimate Vault releases of years past, instead of the 2016 Final Vault “New” stamp style I have come to expect.

Above is the new addition paired alongside a cards released in the 2015 ITG Superlative Vault and 2006 ITG Ultimate Vault boxed product for example.
Just like any other Vault release, this product included extra copies of previously released cards that had been sitting in a warehouse for years. You’ll notice that the stamp style is identically, which is odd since this most-recent addition I received in the mail 2 week ago is from Between The Pipes, so it would’t have been included inside a Superlative or Ultimate Vault product.
So naturally, I turned by attention towards ITG Final Vault. This product released over a decade ago, and included various ITG sets and brands throughout their 16-year card production history. It was their most diverse Vault product yet, which was fitting for In The Game Inc.’s final boxed product.

When Final Vault was released in April of 2016, the vast majority of those cards came with a fresh looking “Vault 1 of 1” stamp in varying colours.
Ever since Final Vault released 10 years ago (wow, does time fly!) I have been slowly picking up Vault cards when I see them, different colours and all.
What I suspect happened here on the He Shoots – He Saves Triple Memorabilia cards is when In The Game was preparing this old stock for this product, maybe they had started stamping some cards with the older stamp style by mistake, or after starting the stamping process, maybe they had Issues with the stamp dye mold which could have forced them to create a new stamp style to finish stamping the remaining cards?
Whatever occurred, I’ve only seen a few of these non-Superlative/Ultimate cards out there in the wild with this stamp style and it got me thinking how this could be. Just another fun card mystery!
I’m happy to have found yet another new piece for the collection. If you have any more, please let me know!
Happy Collecting,
Aaron
UPDATE!
In August of 2026, I found yet another ITG Final Vault piece for the collection (36th Vault card in total): 2010-11 ITG BTP Ready, Willing And Able Silver Jhonas Enroth / Ryan Miller 15-16 ITG Final Vault Gold Stamp.
