First Game-Used Enroth Nameplate Completed!

September is in full swing! Weird weather, sweaters, hot drinks, apple picking and… more cardboard?!

I hope everyone has been enjoying the change in weather and the anticipation of another year of hockey. This time of year is always a whirlwind, but I always find myself eagerly awaiting the start of the hockey season to balance everything out.

Looking at the 2025-26 season, I’m excited to watch as much of Enroth’s SHL games as I can. I always try to tune in, and this will be his last year under contract with the team, so you just never know what the future will hold. In my own hockey world, I also just started a new beer league season, which is always fun. As for the NHL and my Toronto Maple Leafs, maybe this year will be our year?

On the card front, things have kept rolling along to start the Fall, and I’m excited to share more with all of you!

Earlier this month, I unexpectedly crossed off a collecting milestone I never thought I’d complete… which was completing a full set of game-used nameplate cards! I’ve added a decent amount of game-used nameplate cards to the collection over the years, but never got close to completing an entire nameplate.

President’s Choice Trading Cards came through with some new cards recently, which made for a few new Enroth cards to snag for the collection. Always nice when that happens! It’s been a few years since there were any new nameplate cards for me to add, which made these new cards very intriguing.

Since the memorabilia is so large, the design of the card might seem like an afterthought, but on these cards, the design was really nicely laid out in my opinion. The extra headshot photo duplicated in the middle of the card was a nice touch, and filled up the space nicely in my opinion. It’s not hard to fill up space on a nameplate / letter card, but what you do with the rest is equally important as the memorabilia on a card like this, and I think it was executed very nicely.

This design was reused from an earlier President’s Choice nameplate release from 2017/2018. I was a big fan of that design when it first released. There have been a few other nameplate designs used since then, but I was pleasantly surprised to see it being used again in 2025. It reminds me a lot of the earlier In The Game (ITG) designs from many years ago.

After the production was completed and the cards were made available, the finished product turned out great. Excellent cards!
