For the last few years, I’ve been keeping my eye on Upper Deck’s Parkhurst releases and they are one of my favourite products out there right now. As they continue to work their way through the 1950’s ‘Parkies’ products of the past, this year found the 1954-55 release brought back into the limelight.
While trying to find a goalie for the collection, I was able to snag a nice Andrei Vasilevskiy 1954-55 Retro 2nd Team All-Star insert that was to my liking. To see how well UD managed to turn back the clock, here’s a closer look at a Harry Lumley from the original 1954-55 set, and the Vasilevskiy Retro from this recent 2025-26 product release.
Aside from nailing the design, I like the numbering choices they used along the bottom. The “1 of 249” signals that these All-Star cards are limited to just 249 copies on total. Very cool!
