As luck would have it, new cards has continued to make their way into my collection this summer.
In a surprising fashion, SportZoo released a SHL Playoffs product recently that included the 10 teams who qualified for the postseason in 2025-26.
While I have seen SportZoo create other Playoff products, I was not at all expecting anything for the Swedish Hockey League (SHL) just yet. Seeing as this was their first year holding that league licence, I would have expected it to come in later seasons. Nevertheless, I eagerly awaited the checklist to see what I could find.
Enroth’s play to finish off the season was fun to watch and he played a large part in the teams success. From Örebro HK being in the regulation conversation to eventually qualifying for the playoffs, it was nice to see the dedicated fans rally behind the team and get rewarded with some playoff hockey.
On the card front, Enroth’s performance also helped earn these new cards by grabbing one of the final spots in the postseason – paving the way for eventual cards in this playoff product.
Today’s post features the SHL Playoff Base card and the Deep Gold parallel /10. I really like how the white base cards are countered with the base parallels having a black background.
This bold design choice really makes those cards pop, in my opinion. Glad I could knock the gold parallel off the want list so quickly! What a nice looking piece of cardboard. As a nice bonus, the Gold parallel numbered 1/10 is my 22nd Jersey Numbered card in my collection!
